MSNBC has made it official: The cable channel is giving 11 a.m. anchor Thomas Roberts a new assignment, starting Monday, Jan. 13. Roberts will become the new host of "Way Too Early," MSNBC's early-morning newscast, and will also become a regular contributor to "Morning Joe." Brian Schactman, who had been hosting "Way Too Early" since Willie Geist left last year, will be leaving MSNBC. Schactman was a correspondent for CNBC before joining MSNBC.
MSNBC will be shuffling its dayside lineup some more in the coming weeks, with both the 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. hours up for grabs. One of those slots will likely go to Ronan Farrow, who has been promised a dayside program.
