Megan's mom didn't abandon her--she simply pointed out Megan was pouting and fearful of failing as an actress. I love the lin (I'm paraphrasing) "she has an artistic temperament but no talent" Megan is a spoiled little kid in a model's body. Don hasn't yet figured out the tradeoff--i.e., marry an entitled pretty face and you marry grief.
