New York Groove commented on Remember when Eli Manning panicked?
Meh, I never took Toomer’s comments to heart. He’s an analyst, it’s his opinion, Romo does put up gaudy numbers, but we all know which guy we want slinging the ball when the game is on the line. Much ado about nothing. I also thought the Toomer/Warner comments were also pretty brash/out there. But hey, anything to stand out I guess. After a relatively dud first year, I am a big Canty fan. I was at Duane Reade a few months ago and I was wearing a Giants hat or shirt or something, and one of the cashiers, asked me "If I knew who Chris Canty was" and I answered, and he said "That’s my cousin" and had this proud smile on his face. I liked that. To me, the most important game Derrick Ward ever had for the Giants was that performance in Chicago in 2007. That was a must win at the time and with Jacobs out, he stepped up big time, even if it ended his season. If they lost that game, I don’t think they make the playoffs and Coughlin would have gotten fired at the end of the year. That Sunday night game against Carolina was amazing too and I know that it clinched the 1 seed, but that performance in Chicago was my favorite.Posted on July 16th, 2012 12:02pm
New York Groove commented on Happy-stern Giants set to return, heart monitors and all
That 2008 run up to the Plaxico incident had to be one of the most enjoyable moments as a Giants fan. For the first time in a long while, you had expected them to win every game. Re-reading SI's Dom Bonvissuto recap when the Giants ran for 207 yards against then # 1 rush D Ravens (65.4) makes you wonder what could have been if Plax didn’t shoot himself. http://tinyurl.com/762d34r And when Peter King has his substitutes for MMQB, including a pathetically lazy column today, you know it's getting close to camp season. No more night Saturday practices means I'll have to wake up a bit earlier and catch a 1 o-clocker.Posted on June 25th, 2012 4:01pm
