LifeAfterMoses commented on Why New York City has a second-tier bus system
This otherwise fine article fails to mention the folly of "articulated buses," which only take the stain and pour hot water all over it. They clog streets when they're turning, and when parked create chaos for an entire block. The problem started when Els and trolleys succumbed to Detroit's strong arm after WWII -- after years of no car production but having gov't contracts to build tanks and other armaments, GM and others wanted something new to build...like buses. When you break it down, unless used as you suggest here, they magnify most traffic problems.Posted on November 20th, 2012 12:11pm
