Keeping Them Honest commented on Nick Denton tells a crowd there isn't enough Internet gossip

Perhaps this premise would have a little more credibility had Denton used an example other than Anderson Cooper. Gawker just got smacked down for posting an obviously photo-shopped pictures of Cooper in his underwear and "odd" pose and passing it off as the "Photo Anderson Cooper Doesn't Want You To See" Even after a link to the original (not Cooper) photo was posted in comments, Gawker posted a half-assed update and stated the person they obtained it from claims it was authentic. The next day the post was taken down completely with no correction or apology. Retaliation is unbecoming and it's obvious was Denton was doing here. If Denton wants to provide a service, how about looking at into the transparency of elected officials or those running for pubic office? Gawker is a gossip site and has no credibility - they don't check their sources and they don't care what they print and if it's true -- this was made clear when Rock Center visited Gawker headquarters and talked to Denton a couple of months ago.
