Really frustrating to read you publish poll results about what people *think* bike lanes do to traffic, versus looking at available data that almost always shows they don't create traffic jams, but simply slow traffic *slightly* which in turns makes streets measurably safer in the form of fewer deaths and injuries from crashes. Well worth the minor slow down in a city where people think the speed limit is the lower rather than upper bound of what is legal. I get that what people believe informs how politicians shape their campaigns, but there is data available about the impact on traffic and journalists have a responsibility to avail themselves of it.
