She gave an overview of his most recent novel, The Ask, a “witty paean to white-collar loserdom,” which came out in March. Its protagonist, Milo, is a sublimely cynical failed artist who works in a development office at “a mediocre university” in New York City. “Not ours,” Schulman quipped. '90s Indie prom king and queen Dando and Hatfield address 30-pluses at Mercury Lounge

A comeback tour by '90s Indie rockstars Evan Dando and Juliana Hatfield in a month marked by a Pavement reunion, a Superchunk show, and a Pitchfork Top '90s track list could seem like an opportunistic attempt to capitalize on a general atmosphere of nostalgia washing over the city. The two would like to assert that it is not.
