I would hopefully give Mansour enough credit to know MLS' system and hire FO staff and coaches who know how to work with it, but hey if Red Bulls can mess it up with Backe and Soler who were clueless, who knows.

It will be interesting to see what kind of cross-promotion will be done with MLS and the EPL in 2014. Though I hope it doesn't mean more MLS day games to coincide with EPL games.

This is a league that wants to be taken seriously and putting a team in what they consider their top market in a baseball stadium will not do that. MLS wants to end the days of playing in a stadium that is not suited to watching soccer, not continue it. As for the name, while I as a native of Queens would love for it to be in there somewhere, MLS would rather New York for marketability.

One question that comes to mind is, where will MLS replace the parkland? If they can buy property in neighborhoods that lack park space, help build them up, and turn them over to the Parks Department, that would be fantastic.
