Interestingly, the insight of the INS stirring up trouble for Obama Sr also appears to cast some light upon his brother Onyango Obama's plight as well. He arrived with Obama Sr to attend a top flight prep school only to quietly drop out after two years when his brother went back to Kenya to enroll in public school and has been in the country illegally ever since. This is the uncle that was recently charged for DUI. Onyango Obama's prep school classmates often wondered what had happened to their flashy and charming classmate. It would seem that INS pressure likely dried up his scholarship as collateral damage resulting from targeting Obama Sr, resulting in his move to public school.

@Mr Okereke: I'm not so sure about the "God's reward" bit as anything more than a figure of speech, but certainly Obama Sr's backhanded deportation back to Kenya contributed significantly toward Obama Jr's screed to his missing father which played no small role in his election as president. Mr Rice has certainly provided us with some profound insight into Obama Sr's state of mind when he left America after, as you so well put it, being so brutally denied a Harvard PhD that set the tragic tone for the rest of his life. As Mr Rice has uncovered, the perceived "immense injustice" appears far more real now than the imaginations of a drunkard.
