djbens commented on At the inaugural Great GoogaMooga, food, bands, long lines, and trash-talking from Anthony Bourdain

Mr. Rosenblum didn't mention that Hall and Oates put on a ridiculously good show and that, for some reason, ?uestlove was backstage the whole time looking like he was going to come on and perform with them, but never did. Other than that, I think he captured Googamooga perfectly.

djbens commented on Andy Pettitte's return gives the Yankees a hero, if not an upgrade

I think the Yankees are following Megdal's advice from a few seasons ago: rotation by committee. Pettitte is playing the role Megdal suggested for Pedro Martinez -- a low-priced veteran winner.

djbens commented on David Phelps is a ready solution to the Yankees' Freddy Garcia problem

Freddy to the bullpen and Phelps to the bump sounds like a good idea. Freddy could be really solid in relief.I dont't care if it adversely affects Freddy's trade potential because there wasn't much potential to begin with.

djbens commented on Before and after 'Last Waltz': What Levon Helm and, for a short while, The Band, stood for

"The preening publishing thief Robbie Robertson," is the best and most concise description of Robertson. I'm glad and unsurprised you picked that particular video clip to embed. Great piece.

djbens commented on You don't have a problem with offense if Nick Swisher is hitting sixth

This makes me feel I may have been harsh on Swisher largely because he's supposed to be replaced by Andre Ethier by now. Also, is Mr. Megdal saying Brett Gardner's defense is below average?

djbens commented on Will the Mets seriously do to David Wright what they did to Jose Reyes?

Megdal's stories always get me fired up...one way or another.

I really enjoy everything Steve Boone writes. I can't wait for the book I assume he's writing.

Great story, Dana. I love when Bloomberg gets all pissed off.
