The BPI Squirrel commented on Jason Horowitz and 'The Washington Post' won, and the rest is political noise

Had this been a one-time incident, the reporting might be more suspicious and the story might be dismissed as "We all did dumb things as kids." But it wasn't a one-time incident. Romney's father discussed similar (but arguably worse) incidents at Stanford: http://www.politicker.com/2012/04/mitt-romneys-strange-sense-of-humor/ And rebuttals from the Romney campaign ring hollow, given that Eric Fehrnstrom boasted in GQ about seeing people as "ducks in a shooting gallery" at the Boston Herald: http://www.gq.com/news-politics/politics/201205/eric-fehrnstrom-profile-mitt-romney-adviser The emerging story is an ethos of bullying, by Romney and his advisors, that puts his "I like being able to fire people" quote in perspective.
