I wondered what happened to Hasting's book, I have seriously wanted some no PR-spin bs info from the ground right after McChrystal. However, while Af-Pak reporting is down, the few that are still there are very high quality no? This week I learned that Pakistan's public dissapointment was all political smokescreen and they are still helping us bomb the crap out of Al-Queda; that prominent Intellectuals are debating cut and run or fight it out, and that Bagram is still the place where legal observation goes to die. Kudoes for Hasting's risk and dedication. I am a veteran myself, I assure you; his risk was critical. He is a cowboy yeehah from dead at any moment after his amazing bravery. As long as some mental midget keeps pouring our gold into the sand in accordance with OBL's plans counts as strategy, I'm interested.
