Obama super PAC says at least its ads use real people

The super PAC backing President Obama reacted to a new ad from Karl Rove's super PAC, Crossroads GPS, by criticizing its use of a fictional character struggling through the economic recession.

"In our ads, we portray real life stories of Americans who were devastated by the decisions Mitt Romney made," said Bill Burton, the founder of Priorities USA Action, in a statement.

The Crossroads ad, which earned a long preview in the New York Times this morning, features a woman watching her kids play basketball, who then morphs into an old woman talking about how her kids moved back home because they couldn't find a job. More

Obama super PAC's April haul from New York: $12,500

President Obama's super PAC is still struggling to raise money, and nowhere is it more conspicuous than in New York.

According to the latest F.E.C. filings, Priorities USA Action raised just over $1.5 million in April, which included $1 million from the National Air Traffic Controllers Association.

Donors from across New York State gave a grand total of $12,500 last month. More

Pro-Obama super PAC raised a total $17K in New York State last month

Last week, Priorities USA Action, the main super PAC supporting President Obama, leaked its $2 million in February fund-raising total and tried to put a good spin on it.

Co-founder Bill Burton told ABC News that was "40 times better than January," and ABC reported it as a "positive step" for the PAC, following an anemic January, when it raised just over $58,000. More
