Ariel Kaminer moves to the higher ed beat in 'Times' Metro desk shuffle
She returned to her former home on the metro desk last month, but without much explanation about what she'd be doing. They've figured it out: Kaminer will cover higher education in the New York region, according to an internal memo from metro editor Carolyn Ryan, which noted that Kaminer had been responsible for "overseeing" the magazine's harrowing June 6 cover story about a history of alleged sexual abuse at the elite Bronx private school Horace Mann.
