Yesterday, Huma Abedin accompanied Chelsea Clinton to the Rockaways, where they saw first-hand the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. They spoke with Assemblyman Phil Goldefeder and first responders. The trip wasn't announced in advance and only popped onto my radar after Goldfeder tweeted a picture of it, where he identified Clinton, but not Abedin, who is a top aide to Hillary Clinton and the wife of former congressman Anthony Weiner.

 

Today, Weiner sent his first tweet since resigning from office amid a sex scandal last year, asking followers to help with the hurricane relief.

One skeptical reader suggested the timing of Weiner's tweet was not hap-hazard.

"Weiner resumes tweeting the day after pres. election, just as NYC media starts thinking about '13 mayoral race. Coincidence?"
