Andrew Cuomo may soon have an ally in the New York congressional delegation.
Last month, when the governor was aggressively pushing for expansion of the state's DNA database to include information even on low-level offenders like turnstile-jumpers, he acceded to exactly one exception: first-time misdemeanor marijuana offenders.
David Weprin has no problem with the level of support he has received from Governor Andrew Cuomo in his highly competitive race against Bob Turner.
"Oh he did plenty," Weprin told my colleague Azi Paybarah this morning. "He did robocalls all-out, he's done mail. We've done literature, so I don't know what else I would use him for. He's been very supportive."
