Another strong poll showing for Bill de Blasio
For the second time in a week, a poll is showing Public Advocate Bill de Blasio at the front of the Democratic mayoral pack. This one has him neck-and-neck with Council Speaker Christine Quinn.
Today's poll, from WSJ-NBC-Marist, has de Blasio and Quinn each with support from 24 percent of likely Democratic primary voters. Former comptroller Bill Thompson is close behind with 18 percent. Anthony Weiner and John Liu had 11 and five percent, respectively.
When Marist last released a poll, on July 25, Quinn led with 26 percent, de Blasio had 17 percent and Thompson was at 15 percent.
Earlier this week, a Quinnipiac poll showed de Blasio leading the field for the first time since the race began, with 30 percent, thanks to his growing support among black and female voters.
