The hipster jitney to Rockaway Beach returns, with more routes
One sign that the Rockaways will maintain its recently attained status as a fashionable destination for hipstery types, even after Hurricane Sandy ravaged the barrier peninsula:
The company that runs it, Rockabus, will be offering $10 non-stop rides from Williamsburg to Rockaway Beach, with new non-stop routes serving Grand Army Plaza and the Lower East Side. Rockabus is also upgrading its fleet of nostalgia-inducing yellow school buses by equipping them with sound systems.
