Matt Abramcyk, the original Beatrice Inn guy, aims for Gowanus

Matt Abramcyk, the downtown restauranteur behind Smith & Mills, Super Linda, and the pre-Graydon Carter Beatrice Inn, is raising money to build a boutique hotel in Gowanus.
Abramcyk is one of three "developers/operators" behind what's been dubbed the Gowanus Inn & Yard, according to a project memorandum circulated among real estate investors and obtained by Capital.
The memo calls for an 82-room, four-story, boutique hotel at 645 Union Street, between Third and Fourth Avenues.
Also involved is Alec Shtromandel, who separately built the 43-room Union Hotel two blocks away on DeGraw Street.
The document describes a $13 million project in need of another $2.25 million in equity capital, and with a projected completion date of early 2015.
Downtown Brooklyn has seen something of a hotel boom in the past decade.
Travelers can now stay at Hotel Le Bleu on Fourth Avenue, the Aloft Downtown, the Nu Hotel, or the Holiday Inn Express on Union Street.
But none has the cache of Abramcyk, who frequently partners with Chloe Sevigny's brother, DJ Paul Sevigny, and who's been described in various media outlets as a downtown "scenester" and a "night-life magic maker."
A 2008 New York Observer article headlined "Baron of Beatrice Inn Branches Out" described how, under Abramcyk's early stewardship, the Beatrice "emerged as perhaps the hippest nighttime destination in all of Manhattan."
"The Abramcyk Group is acting as lead designer on the Project, responsible for the design of all private and public spaces as well as food & beverage development," reads the Gowanus Inn memo. "With many years of experience in both restaurant and bar design as well as operational development, it is anticipated that Matt Abramcyk will also serve as a principal of the food & beverage entity which will operate all the hotel's public spaces."
Reached by cell phone, Abramcyk told me the memo was "a working document."
"I really can’t comment about it," he said.
Shtromandel, reached by phone, told me he would call back, but hasn't yet.

Wasn't this the kid who's records were seized from David Jarolsawicz's office over similar illegal businesses in the Anna Gristina Millionaire Madam scandal? Who would give this kid a nickel? He was caught lying to the judge in the Baron Of Beatrice Inn story beginning to end and the case was dismissed. Jaroslawciz was trying to hide an illegal business after Abramcyk started a fire at Smith & Mills. A lawsuit prevents the City from investigating what turns out was a fraud C of O because Smith & Mills obstructs the secondary egress for all 5000 square feet both buildings combined above them in their neighbor's attached 199 square foot single car garage. Man is this kid a sick liar. He is a front for EMM. These are tier 2 operators.
Maybe we could just publish the transcripts In the Baron Of Beatrice Inn story for the world to see? This kid was caught lying to the judge so many times in the Baron of Beatrice Inn story its remarkable he didn't high tail it out of the country in shame but he has none.
