To be clear, Democratic City Council candidate Thomas Lopez-Pierre is a racist and a homophobe who says crazy things to get attention and doesn't have a real chance of getting into office.
But apparently he has a plan.
I ran into him just now at a labor forum in Midtown, and told him his comments and emails were offensive.
He responded by asking me what my ethnicity was and whether I was a victim of gentrification.
He also said that after he gets elected, he plans to "pivot."
So apparently the slurs are just for show.
