The John Catsimatidis Show

Deborah Yun of the Epoch Times got this great shot of Republican mayoral candidate John Catsimatidis striking a Richard Nixon pose.

Catsimatidis' daughter, Andrea, is married to Chris Cox, Nixon's grandson.

It's another neat illustration, if nothing else, of why a Catsimatidis candidacy will be fun to cover for however long it lasts. He may be running for office, but he's apparently about as concerned with message displipline now as he always was when he was a donor-surrogate for the Clintons and, last year, Mitt Romney. Which is to say, he's not afraid to freelance.

(To be fair, at least one of Catsimatidis' Republican rivals is also given to speaking extemporaneously and with apparent candor, though he's been notably more cautious since officially becoming a candidate.)

One Democratic operative on a mayoral campaign saw the photo of Catsimatidis-as-Nixon on Twitter and told me "he just adds a whole new dimension to this race."

Which is, I think, inarguable.

CORRECTION: The last name in the photo credit was misspelt in an earlier version.

John Catsimatidis is the sole owner of Red Apple Real Estate who is my parent's Landlord. Let me try to be as articulate as possible. John Catsimatidis is a ruthless scumbag who doesn't care about any soul except for money. Check out his office on 57st and 11 ave, and you will understand how cheap this guy is. Walk into his office on the top floor and the smell. You would think a billionaire would re-invest into his own property being that it's location is in a prime spot but spending a penny is too much for him. Don't let him fool you, he will only cut taxes for the rich and kill social spending.
