Yesterday, Huma Abedin accompanied Chelsea Clinton to the Rockaways, where they saw first-hand the devastation of Hurricane Sandy.

They spoke with Assemblyman Phil Goldefeder and first responders. The trip wasn't announced in advance and only popped onto my radar after Goldfeder tweeted a picture of it, where he identified Clinton, but not Abedin, who is a top aide to Hillary Clinton and the wife of former congressman Anthony Weiner.

Today, Weiner sent his first tweet since resigning from office amid a sex scandal last year, a link to a video that shows some of the destruction in the Rockaways, over a voicemail one resident left for another. Weiner didn't include any of his own commentary in the tweet.

One skeptical reader suggested the timing of Weiner's tweet was not coincidental.

"Weiner resumes tweeting the day after pres. election, just as NYC media starts thinking about '13 mayoral race. Coincidence?"

Weiner has mostly avoided the public eye since his resignation, and hasn't taken any obvious steps to prepare a run for 2013.
