City Councilman Vinny Ignizio has been trying to organize relief efforts for his storm-ravaged residents on Staten Island, asking people for construction supplies and equipment to help clear debris and start rebuilding.

He's also made a direct plea to Tide, the detergent company which routinely sends mobile washing units to disaster areas to help residents.

Yesterday, on Facebook, Ignizio wrote "Hey Tide -- if your laundry truck isn't here -- where is it ? And if you don't support us in our moment of need - we don't and shouldn't support you ... Sounds fair, no ?"

145 people registered their approval of his thoughts.
