Broad Channel, a narrow neighborhood built on a marsh between Howard Beach and Rockaway Beach, isn't doing well.
A reader passed along these photos from Tracy Moccio, who recently visited the waterfront community and found broken boats, trucks and houses everywhere.
It's part of Assemblyman Philip Goldfeder's district, which is already reeling.
The city is opening a food distribution center there this afternoon.
Goldfeder is currently attempting to draw attention to the situation in Howard Beach, Hamilton Beach and the West End of Rockaway by tweeting with the hashtag #WeAreSuffering.
I tried calling Goldfeder on his cell phone, which, naturally, rang and then went to voice mail.
how is the bay view under the bridge, will they rebuild?
Hey... I took those pictures... They are from my facebook page. At least give me the credit for taking them. Two of them are taken from my roof, and one even has my car's mirror.
