Days after Mayor Michael Bloomberg endorsed Grace Meng, the Democratic candidate in New York's 6th congressional district in Queens, Meng's Republican opponent announced a fund-raiser featuring former mayor Rudy Giuliani.
The NY-06 district is heavily Democratic and heavily Asian-American (Meng stands to become the first Asian-American elected to Congress from New York) but it includes parts of Bayside that have at times supported Republican councilmembers and state legislators.
Giuliani's fund-raiser for the Republican candidate, Councilman Dan Halloran, will take place on October 9 at Terrace on the Park, at 7 p.m.
