Here's Rupert Murdoch arriving for work at News Corp.'s headquarters in Manhattan yesterday morning just before 8:30 a.m.

Parked in front of the building, on Avenue of the Americas, was a New York Police Department vehicle, occupied by two police officers.

There has been at least one NYPD vehicle parked there since the beginning of last week (and possibly longer—I've only been looking out for it since then).

The Daily Beast noticed the seemingly permanent presence of the NYPD in front of News Corp.'s headquarters too, posting an article about it back in December that led with the fact that Murdoch was a target of an Occupy Wall Street-related demonstration

A spokesman for News Corp. declined to comment when I emailed him questions about the NYPD presence outside their building. A spokesman for the NYPD did not respond to request for comment.
