Senator Kirsten Gillibrand won't get a star turn on the stage at the Democratic convention in Charlotte next week, since she'll be appearing alongside her fellow female senators for a big ensemble production led by Maryland's Barbara Mikulski.
But she'll still get some airtime on television, as the featured guest on Wednesday's edition of "The Daily Show," according to a reporter for the Charlotte Observer.
Gillibrand appeared on the show once before, where she drew unusually effusive praise from host Jon Stewart for her help in passing the September 11 health care bill. In turn, she praised Stewart and "The Daily Show" for advocating on behalf of the bill.
Other guests during the convention include Tom Brokaw on Tuesday, and economist Austan Goolsbee on Thursday.
The day after her "Daily Show" interview, Gillibrand will address the Iowa delegation.
