Andrew Cuomo has sent you a link

For those interested in Governor Andrew Cuomo's responsiveness to document requests, here's a very quick timeline of one recent inquiry to his executive chamber under the FOIL law.

On June 4, Cuomo's director of communication wrote a lengthy letter to the New York Times, pushing back aggressively on an impending story about a casino developer's donations to the pro-Cuomo advocacy group, the Committee to Save New York.

At the time, the newspaper didn't publish Cuomo's letter. So, on June 7, I sent a Freedom of Information Law requesting a copy of the letter.

On August 2, the executive chamber provided an answer: a link to another newspaper's web site, which published the letter on July 20 after having received it in response to a FOIL request.
