The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which, under Governors Cuomo and Christie, has made a great show of reigning in costs, is unveiling an avatar at Newark Liberty International Airport tomorrow morning.
She will be one of five "customer care representatives" to debut at the region's airports. (JFK and LaGuardia are getting some, too.)
The authority is buying three avatars for $180,000.
As the Daily Mail noted, unlike human employees, avatars "always smile, don't need breaks and never go on strike."
Here's a video, via WNYC:
CORRECTION: The original version of this article, relying on information put out by the Port Authority that has since been corrected, said that the authority would be renting the avatars, not buying them.
