A Bloomberg donates to a public advocate candidate
Mayor Michael Bloomberg has never really held the office of public advocate in high regard, and once described an idea by the current public advocate as "the stupidest one" he's heard in a while.
Bloomberg's eldest daughter, Emma, appears to look more favorably at the office, or at least likes one of its potential occuptations. Her only political donation in the last six months was to Reshma Saujani, who worked in the public advocate's office until recently, and is running for the position next year.
Emma Bloomberg donated $250 to Saujani's campaign committee, Reshma for New York, on June 28, according to state finance records.
The younger Bloomberg has been supportive of Saujani in the past.
Also considering a run for the office are State Senator Daniel Squadron, City Councilwoman Letitia James, Community Education Council member Noah Gotbaum and, perhaps, former Rep. Anthony Weiner.
