Mitt Romney reported raising a combined $106.1 million in June, his highest monthly to date, leaving him with $160 million in cash on hand.
The total represents the combined fund-raising for Romney's campaign and the Republican National Committee's victory committee, and demonstrates Romney's ability to raise comparable sums to President Obama, who was initially expected to outraise his Republican rival by a significant margin.
The campaign noted that 94 percent of the month's donations were $250 or less (though the smaller donations combined for just $22 million of the total).
The totals include a late flurry of donations following the Supreme Court's decision to uphold the Affordable Care Act, the president's signature health care law, which Romney has promised to repeal if elected.
They do not include the hundreds of millions of dollars Republicans have pledged to outside groups like Karl Rove's American Crossroads PAC, which are likely to flood the airwaves with ads critical of President Obama,
