Kelly says people in ‘communities of color’ want more stop-and-frisk

The one thing all the major Democratic mayoral candidates agree on is the desirability of reducing the frequency with which the New York Police Department employs the tactic of stop-and-frisk.

Ray Kelly disagrees, and thinks the communities the Democrats say they're advocating for disagree, too.

In a scrum with reporters after testifying at a City Council budget hearing this morning, he had this exchange with NY1 crime reporter Dean Meminger:

Kelly: "I can assure you, I go to communities, communities of color. People want more--"

Kelly: "Absolutely."
