Mayor Michael Bloomberg won't be consulting Council Speaker Christine Quinn's bridal registry to figure out what to give her for her impending nuptials. Instead, he'll make a gift to charity.
"I will send a donation to a philanthropic organization in her honor," he said today at an event about New York's growing tech sector. "That's what I always do. You know, I probably should go to the bridal registry or someplace or other."
Of the donation, the mayor said he thinks Quinn and her fiancee Kim Catullo "would appreciate that more" than traditional registry items like flatware.
