One day after President Obama's campaign launched its first attack ad on Mitt Romney's record at Bain Capital, the super PAC supporting the president, Priorities USA Action, is following up with a 30-second version.
The ad, titled "Heads or Tails," features a former steel worker at the same plant, GST Steel, that was highlighted in the campaign's video.
Here's the whole script, which is layered over an ominous score and some bleak shots of a shuttered plant:
With Romney and Bain Capital, the objective was to make money.
Whether the companies they came in and worked with made money or not, was irrelevant. Bain Capital always made money.
If we lost, they made money. If we survived, they made money. It’s as simple as that.
He promised us the same things he’s promising the United States. And he’ll give you the same thing he gave us. Nothing. He’ll take it all.
The ad marks the beginning of a campaign that's reported to be $4 million, which is significantly more than the re-election campaign invested in its two-minute ad released yesterday, which seemed designed as much as anything to generate media coverage.
