Only John Liu knows what he means when he says he is ‘going all the way’

Here's City Comptroller John Liu fielding questions after his non-campaign rally in a Harlem church yesterday, and not explaining what he meant when he said he was "going all the way."

One aide told me they came up with the line earlier that day, and that it was menat to signal Liu's plan to run for mayor next year, despite the fund-raising issues that would seem to make that plan extremely complicated.

Liu has said he knows exactly what he plans to do, but hasn't revealed those plans.

One bit of context, for this video: When Liu says "By the way Carl, no offence," he is talking to New York Post reporter Carl Campanile. Earlier at the rally, a preacher suggested supporters stop buying the Post.

"That's all right," Campanile responds. "I'm a big boy."
