"John McCain did not talk to me about supporting Mitt Romney," Michael Bloomberg said today on his radio show, when asked about a Post report describing a recent visit the mayor got from the Arizona Senator.
Bloomberg, who jokes about having switched from being a Democrat to a Republican to an independent, said, "John did say to me that he thought Mitt Romney is a good guy and would make a good president. And they're both Republicans, you'd expect him to say that."
Bloomberg described McCain as "a friend of mine for a long time" and said he hoped that he could get his support for a federal bill to help pay for the World Trade Center Memorial.
