'Prove it': Liu expects more allegations, but not much else, from an ongoing probe
John Liu said he expects "even more allegations" to be leveled against him and his campaign as federal authorities investigate his fund-raising practices, but he said, "I'm not going to let it deter me from next year's election."
Appearing on NY1 last night, the comptroller and still-possible mayoral candidate said, "I know what I'm going to do next year," but declined to say more.
He sounded frustrated at the pace of the investigations which have already led to the arrest of his 25-year-old campaign treasurer and one fund-raiser.
"I hope that whoever is in charge of these investigations can get through it as quickly as possible because there is an election next year," Liu said. "And if there is anything that my campaign is guilty of, or my supporters or my staff or by extension, me, then prove it."
