In Harlem, Rangel and Wright make light of a redistricting dilemma

2:20 pm Feb. 6, 2012

On Saturday, Rep. Charlie Rangel helped constituents iron out problems with their Social Security benefits, hosting a town hall-style meeting on that topic in the Adam Clayton Powell State Office Building on 125th Street.

At one point, Rangel acknowledged Assemblyman Keith Wright, who jokingly said the congressman's own political problems would get ironed out, too.

"Don't worry abou the lines," said Wright, the Manhattan Democratic County Chairman, referring to the redistricting issue that's been discussed very publicly recently.

Later, Rangel told an anecdote about a congressman in Brooklyn who "lost" his district after everyone told him not to worry. Everyone laughed.
