Bossypants (Unabridged)
By Tina Fey
Narrated by Tina Fey

Listening to Tina Fey, the doyenne of comedy TV, read her best-selling 2011 memoir Bossypants, feels a bit like sitting across from her at a casual lunch: she injects guffaws, paces her phrases with perfect comedic timing, and whispers when she wants to get personal—as if leaning across the table to share a secret. You'll put down the wine and bend your ear to listen: "And this was what Oprah would call an Aha Moment… for all those years that I was sure that boys could tell when I had a loaf-of-bread-size maxi pad going up the back of my pants, they actually had no idea!"

Fey's breezy, unpretentious read of Bossypants creates an intimate atmosphere in a beach chair or on a lake-front porch at family vacation. Underlying the self-deprecating stories about dating mishaps and cringeworthy fashion choices is an inspiring (feminist!) message about being yourself, even when that’s a sometimes-dramatic, occasionally insecure, bossy woman working in a male-dominated industry. "To hell with everybody!" Tina says several times in the book. It's nice to hear coming from her.
