Buzzfeed is creating a team to develop web and mobile games, according to a listing on the company's jobs site.

The job listing—for a "Games Developer (Javascript)"—states that the company is looking to hire someone with experience developing web and mobile games to work as part of a new development team.

"BuzzFeed is on the hunt for a Creative Developer with a background in web and mobile Games. We are looking for a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment, and is equally skilled at conceptualizing and executing the creation of games," the listing states. "This is a unique opportunity to be a part of a new exciting team here at BuzzFeed that will concentrate on the development of interactive games, on the Web as well as Mobile."

Buzzfeed's tech team has developed a number of interactive products—most notably its ubiquitous quizzes—that both its editorial staffers and branded content team have taken advantage of.

It is unclear whether Buzzfeed will create its own original games or only produce branded games, though the job listing suggests that Buzzfeed will primarily develop games for its advertising clients.

"We are looking for developers that have the ability to build a functional prototype for a simple game in 48-72 hours, something we'd be able to present to a client with confidence," the listing states.

Buzzfeed did not respond to a request for comment.
