Coming soon from Andrew Golis and Atlantic Media: ‘This.’
Atlantic Media is preparing to launch "This.," a new digital project spearheaded by Andrew Golis, who serves as general manager of The Wire, a source with knowledge of the venture told Capital.
The goal of the vertical, the source said, is to provide a platform for newsworthy, highly recommended links to content. The name of the page comes from a popular Twitter convention in which users manually retweet a link or comment and vouch for it by writing the phrase "This." ahead of it.
A landing page for the site is already online; the tag line for the project is "Your Digital Shelf."
An Atlantic Media spokesperson said that it's too soon to comment on the project, which has no set launch date (the landing page says "Launching Soon").
Feminist author Jessica Valenti, who is married to Golis, teased the project on Twitter last month.
"Something exciting is coming soon from @agolis. It's gonna be fucking amazing," she wrote on April 18.
Golis joined Atlantic Media in June 2013 as an entrepreneur in residence, and then shifted over to The Wire when editor in chief Gabriel Snyder left in January.
The Wire is still searching for an editor to replace Snyder, and Golis has been leading that search while also getting "This." ready for launch.
