NY1 anchor Elizabeth Kaledin, currently co-anchor of the local cable channel's 11 p.m. newscast, is leaving to join the Central Park Conservancy. Kaledin is expected to work in a public relations role for the conservancy, which manages the park and is charged with its upkeep, events and programs.

With her departure, the "News at Eleven" will switch to a solo-anchor format, more in line with traditional evening newscasts. Lewis Dodley, Kaledin's co-anchor, will anchor the program himself going forward.

Kaledin, who was with NY1 when Time Warner Cable launched it in 1992, left two years later to join CBS News, eventually becoming chief medical correspondent. She re-joined NY1 in 2007 as the co-anchor of the "News at Eleven."
