AT&T thanks blacked-out customers for ‘patience’

Customers of AT&T's wireless services just received a text message (if they are getting them at all) from the company that, a little bit late, sounds the same rhetoric we've been hearing consistently from Con Edison and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority: We're working hard, please be patient.

It will be interesting to see if it works. More than one friend in New Jersey has told me they plan to cut out of their plans as soon as we're out of Sandy madness.

The full text message:

AT&T Svc Msg: In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, we are closely monitoring our wireless network for service disruptions. Our crews are working around the clock to restore service to impacted areas. Please stay safe and thank you for your patience. Sincerely, AT&T.
