With all the noise emanating from Mitt Romney's now-infamous secretly videotaped "47 percent" presentation, was there any chance that Mother Jones, the underdog nonprofit lefty mag credited with breaking the story wide open, wasn't going to end up landing profiles in the print editions of both The New York Times and The Washington Post?
Although in the case of the Washington Post piece, which explains "How Mother Jones got the Romney '47 percent' story," one might wonder whether venerable media writer Paul Farhi reads any of the other reporters on his beat: Both BuzzFeed's Ben Smith and Politico's Dylan Byers each wrote pretty much this very same feature a day before.
The Times, on the other hand, takes a look at Mother Jones' "long history of public affairs journalism."
