CNN temporarily shelves a feature on Cuomo’s 2016 presidential prospects (updated)
In late April, Politico's Maggie Haberman gamed out a hypothetical 2016 Democratic primary between Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Governor Andrew Cuomo.
The Daily News recently featured a poll by Doug Schoen looking at potential Cuomo and Clinton campaigns for 2016.
And this morning, New York Post state editor Fred Dicker, a Cuomo insider among journalists who has been contracted to write a Cuomo biography with the governor's cooperation, said on his radio show that CNN is getting in on the act.
Dicker said that Mary Snow, a New York-based political correspondent for Wolf Blitzer's "Situation Room," had contacted him Monday "saying that CNN was going to be doing a piece on the possibilities of Andrew Cuomo running for president in 2016 and would I speak to them."
"Obviously the pace is picking up a little bit," Dicker said of the Cuomo 2016 story. "The governor, for the first time, was talking about it a bit himself last week, if only to reject the notion."
But, reached for comment, a spokesperson for the network said that while Snow had been working on the feature on Monday, it has been shelved for the moment.
For her part, Clinton poured cold water over talk of her presidential ambitions over the weekend.
