Michael Bloomberg's team is looking for an additional speechwriter, according to an email sent this afternoon from his top speechwriter, Francis Barry.

Bloomberg is known for sticking to the script at major events, reading his comments on either a teleprompter or on his iPad. Whoever gets the job will have to deal with the mayor's demanding schedule and Massachusetts accent.

Here's the email, forwarded to me by a reader.

Dear Friends,

My apologies for the mass email, but we have an opening on the

speechwriting team here at City Hall, and we are casting a wide net.

If you know someone who may be interested, and who has a talent for

turning a phrase, please spread the word.

Resumes can be sent to speechwriter@cityhall.nyc.gov (Salary

commensurate with experience.)

Many thanks,

Frank
