Sharpton’s new spokeswoman: Jacky Johnson
Jacqueline Johnson has been named the new communications spokeswoman for the Rev. Al Sharpton and his non-profit organization, The National Action Network.
Johnson replaces Sharpton’s longtime aide Rachel Noerdlinger, who started today as chief of staff to first lady Chirlane McCray.
Johnson’s role was announced in an email from Noerdlinger to colleagues this morning.
“Jacky,” as Noerdlinger refers to her, served as "press manager” for Sharpton’s National Action Network’s national convention last year and for the March on Washington in August.
According to her LinkedIn profile, Johnson is an Oakland, California native, who worked at MTV for nearly two years and later as a publicist for Dangerous Music.
